The Legacy Circle

Established in 1999, the Legacy Circle honors donors who have generously included UC Santa Barbara in their estate plans through some form of planned or deferred gift. Members of the Legacy Circle have expressed a lifelong commitment to the future of UC Santa Barbara by naming the campus as the ultimate beneficiary of their largesse. We are grateful for their partnership in this noble pursuit.

Joining The Legacy Circle
Membership in the society is conferred upon those who have communicated to the university their intention to make a planned or deferred gift. Such gifts might include a bequest, charitable trust, charitable gift annuity, retirement plan assets, or a gift of property with a retained life estate.

Once you complete your estate plans, we encourage you to fill out our Declaration of Intent, which allows us to recognize you for your generosity and welcome you as a new member of The Legacy Circle. Once you’ve completed the form, please email to ilana.ormond@ucsb.edu.

Membership Benefits
Your membership involves no dues, obligations, or solicitations, but it does allow us to thank and recognize you for the plans you have made, and it may inspire generosity in others.

Benefits of membership in The Legacy Circle also include an annual Tea hosted by the Chancellor, as well as invitations to special events and seminars.

Perhaps the most important benefit Legacy Circle membership provides is the satisfaction of knowing you are making a lasting impact on the future of the campus and the many students whose lives are forever enriched as a result.
